Well that was splendid, wasn’t it?
I’ve been running clubs long enough now to know that any night in the middle of the summer when there’s loads of other events on is bound to start slowly, but I must admit I was a bit anxious early on. But – oh my days! – it got busy. Thanks so much for coming if you did, it was probably the maddest Jumpin’ yet and me and my special guest selector Alex Johnson were pretty overwhelmed* by it all.
I’ve NO idea what I played – maybe Alex can remember his set. I know that at the end we were playing back-to-back and trying to mess each other up a bit, but in reality it just meant we reached for the most dancefloor-friendly tunes we had. I was gutted we didn’t finish with The Monster Mash (yes, I did have it with me) but Alex’s (Reach Out) I’ll Be There seemed like a pretty banging final tune.
I’d like to thank Alex for being a perfect guest; Rosie and Kathryn and the Ernest crew for letting us do it and coping admirably; Polly and Toni and Kirsten for being staunch; everyone who came. All that stuff. And tramadol and Patron Xo Café for getting me through it.
Till next time…
