Jumpin’ With Stagger Lee #19

So summer is drawing to a close (you can come join Rob Heron and I at the Cumberland Arms on Sunday 4th to bid it farewell) and up here in the north-east I’m already looking at knitwear.

But let’s fight off the darkness together with another Jumpin’ mix. This one features new tracks from ridiculously good new albums from The Handsome Family and Black Angel Drifter (a new incarnation of Morton Valence), as well as a new(ish) Charlie Parr tune. There’s a key track from the flawed but watchable The Get Down TV show, a couple of shonky mixes of my own devising and the usual mix of soul, reggae, R&B, country and more.

You can stream Jumpin’ With Stagger Lee #19 here or download it (for a short time) here.

That Summer Feeling…

A little bit last minute this one, but Rob Heron and I will be dragging ourselves and our rekkids down to the Cumberland Arms for one last outdoor gig to say adios to the summer.

September 4th, 2pm-7pm, free.

We can cry into our beer and wonder where our summer (and our youth) has gone

Soul Finger

Just to make my life as hectic as possible, I can confirm I’m now joining Rob Heron and friends to play some tunes at the second Soul Finger night at the Cumberland Arms on September 23rd, the night before the aforementioned Jumpin’ With Stagger Lee night at Ernest. You should come, but only if you’re still coming the following night. Otherwise, save your energy 😉
